VP Cheney Accidentally Shoots Friend While Hunting

Update: Drudge has a link to a release from US Newswire with quotes attributed to Jim and Sarah Brady that are so outrageous that I thought for sure they were a joke:

"Now I understand why Dick Cheney keeps asking me to go hunting with him," said Jim Brady. "I had a friend once who accidentally shot pellets into his dog - and I thought he was an idiot."

"I've thought Cheney was scary for a long time," Sarah Brady said. "Now I know I was right to be nervous."

Pure class.

VP Cheney accidentally sprayed his friend Harry Whittington with some pellets while they were quail hunting.  From reports on Fox News Channel, Mr. Whittington is doing fine.

The story doesn't say what kind of shot VP Cheney used, but it had to have been bird shot, which consists of tiny pellets. The injury was probably more painful than harmful.  Unfortunately, Mr. Whittington will have to have BB's dug out of his skin.
